Beaches Near Tolo

Only a short distance from Ninemia Residence, under the archaeological site of Ancient Asini one can find a quiet & charming beach, Kastraki. Tha beach of Kastraki is a small crescent-shaped beach with a mix of fine sand and small pebbles, known for its crystal-clear waters and the dramatic background of ancient Mycenaean walls. It offers limited sunbeds and a small taverna, giving visitors a more natural and less crowded experience. Around 5-7 minutes by car or a pleasant 25-minute walk along the beach road.

Situated near the village of Drepano, a short drive from Tolo, Plaka is a long beach characterized by fine pebbles and crystal-clear, blue waters. It's less developed than Tolo beach but offers a a few organized sections with sunbeds, umbrellas, and beachfront tavernas and cafes. The name 'Plaka' reffer to a big stone slab that runs along the coast like a plaque. Its length allows for quieter spots if you walk further along and the surrounding area is filled with trees as a backround to this picturesque scene.

The closest beach to Nafplio's Old Town, located right below the Castle of Palamidi the famous Nafplio landmark. A small, picturesque beach with small pebbles and part of flat rocks on the side, offering incredibly clear waters. It's famous for its stunning views of the fortress & the ruins of Acronafplia and the Arvanitia Promenade, a paved walking path that wraps around the headland from Nafplio's harbor, leading directly to the beach. Arvanitia also has an all-day café-restaurant-bar equipped to cater to all visitors need as well as sunbeds, umbrellas, and showers.

Located a few kilometers from Tolo and close to the town of Nafplio, accessible by road, this is the largest and arguably most popular beach in the Nafplio area, with a long stretch of golden sand in a beautiful horseshoe shape with palms and eucalyptus trees decoreting its length. Its waters are shallow and calm, making it exceptionally family-friendly. Karathona is well-organized with numerous sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, and tavernas, water sports facilities and a waterpark.

Situated further east along the coast from Tolo, before reaching Candia. Also known as Agios Nikolaos beach due to a small chapel located there. Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Tolo area, Kondyli is a long stretch of fine gravel mixed with white sand, and famously deep, incredibly clear, and clean waters. It offers a vibrant atmosphere with a few popular beach bars that often host events, as well as quieter, more relaxed parts with sunbeds and an unorganised section, behind a small rock. Water sports facilities are available here too.

Located in the village of Candia, further along the coast, Candia Beach is another long beach with sand and pebbles and clear blue waters. It's known for being spacious, allowing organized sections with sunbeds and umbrellas, quieter spots under natural shade from trees and a couple of popular beach bars playing music and offering cold drinks, coffees & snacks for the younger crowds that come here. The sea here can get a pleasant surf in the afternoons, making it popular for windsurfing.
